RIP Jun Seba - a.k.a. Nujabes.
Many of you may know that, late last month, the Japanese musician Nujabes (born Jun Seba) passed away. For those that don’t know who Nujabes was, he was a well-known Japanese hip-hop producer that made some of the most-loved indie hip-hop music in the entire world; his work could be heard on his album and single releases or in the anime, Samurai Champloo. A discography can be found here: Discogs link
His music had a great amount of emotion and soul and, judging by the comments left on Twitter, Shing02’s (one of the artists he had worked closely with) site, and elsewhere, it has touched many, many people across the world. Listening to some of his music today, I’m finding it hard not to cry myself. Rest in peace, Jun, and know that there are many people across the world mourning your passing and rediscovering your wonderful music.
